As the founder of the Mind-Body Healing Centre (MBHC), I acknowledge that the caretakers of the land, where the MBHC is situated, are historically and currently of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat Peoples. Tkaronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, which is now home to many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples.
In addition, particularly as a leading practitioner in the therapeutic field of trauma recovery and self-actualization, I acknowledge the truth of intergenerational trauma inflicted onto First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples, originating from and perpetuated by colonization, historically and currently. As such, I endeavour to offer a decolonized approach to trauma recovery and self-actualization, wholistically supporting individuals, groups, and organizations to thrive on their own terms.
